Thanks guys. It's definitely been a learning lesson. At least it forced me to see a huge deficiency in myself. Next time I can be more aware of my tendecy to attack others when something like this happens.

Sincere Apology
by Christ Alone ini just wanted to give an overall apology regarding how i was speaking to people on friday.
but the shooting really shook me up.
i think i said some things that were offensive to people, and even if my words were not offensive, the way i expressed myself was.

I too hope some good will emerge from the tragedy. My wife and I were watching some of the media coverage last night. I was somewhat sickened by it. I couldn't help but feel that the media was exploiting some of the families for the sake of a good story. I'm not sure what should be done in light of it though. I think one of the first reactions to something like this is to be angry. After 9/11 we wanted to go destroy everything we could in Afganistan. I personally don't even know where we can begin with keeping this kind of thing from happening so often. Everyone has different ideas. Gun control. Better mental health screenings.
Anyway, I"m just ashamed that my first reaction after being so sad about this was to attack others. Shameful...

I just wanted to give an overall apology regarding how I was speaking to people on Friday. I usually don't get so emotional and harsh. But the shooting really shook me up. I think I said some things that were offensive to people, and even if my words were not offensive, the way I expressed myself was.
Like I said Friday, I didn't cry after 9/11. I didn't cry after any other national tragedy. But the shooting on Friday shocked, saddened, and angered me so much, I was an emotional wreck. I'm sorry that I was so harsh on those that were blaming God for it. I had no right to express myself in such a way, especially while those same people were hurting too. If I shocked or angered you, please accept my sincere apology. Reading back over some of my posts, I saw that some of them were attacks on people that disagreed with me and held to a different view. That was both wrong and unfair. I completely understand if some of you guys are still angry with me.

Mine is obviously one of the five solae. Sola scriptura (scripture alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), solus christus (Christ Alone), and soli deo Gloria (glory be to god alone). After spending my life rejecting Jesus and effectively worshiping the WT corp, I realized that my whole world view had to be reexamined. It's only by Christ that we are saved.

I said "atheist thought" not atheist. An atheist must claim that something came from nothing. When rejecting a belief in God, the atheist must either ignore and not learn anything to replace their belief, or they must move on to the logical consequence of their lack of belief, namely that something came from nothing or else the universe is eternal and has had an eternal series of big bangs prior to the most recent. Even then they are stuck with the concept of eternity, which it seems many atheists wish to avoid.
And you know what nothing means. You're trying to do what you usually and distract the statements. But we both know that nothing is the absence of anything quantitative. The singularity is something. So either it came from an eternally expanding and collapsing universe (which we both know is defined as all matter and energy which includes the earth, the galaxies, and the contents of intergalactic space), or it came from nothing.
Trying to answer how nothing comes from something by questioning definitions does not state your case. Where else can we demonstrate, or observe NOTHING coming from SOMETHING?

Did he fail when he said that something cannot come from nothing? Because this is the basis of atheist thought. Something came from nothing. Unless, of course, you must make the assertion (which you must) that something did not come from nothing because something is eternal. So either God is eternal or the universe is eternal. There cannot be a single big bang because the something (the singularity) would have come from nothing, which cannot be.

Did Jehovah use non-believers to accomplish His will?
by I_love_Jeff in(again we have a questioned geared toward the jehovah's witnesses who strongly believe the star was a horama (illusion) crafted by satan.
this horama supposedly directed the magi who were apparently influenced by satan.).
if so, then what is wrong with god allowing the magi to accomplish his will by sending them out to find the christ?.
